Bacon Baguetes

Garlic bread with bacon and cheese.

You will need a part-baked frozen garlic baguette, a couple of rashers of bacon and some sliced cheese. Gouda has the best texture for this:

Warm the over as specified for the frozen garlic baguette.

Place the garlic baguette on some greaseproof paper on a baking tray.

Cut the bacon into bite sized squares. Put the squares onto the top of the baguette. Don't stack them, just put them down like tiles.

Lay the sliced cheese on top.

Cook in the oven as directed for the bread but cook for 2-3 minutes longer to allow for the extra time required. (NB, you will need a total time of at least 16 minutes to ensure that the bacon is cooked.)

If you are feeding big hearty blokes, each will get one full baguette and a half litre of Pilsner Urquel.

For a variation, try tuna instead of bacon.
